I'm just putting the finishing touches on the details for our final Flirty Apron Swap of the year for winter. I can't wait!!!

Merci Dayna for this yummy apron

Isn't it gorgeous ?

I've just received Dayna's Apron this morning. It is awesome. I love the pockets and the Chocolate Factory print is so Lucy-esque. Last but not least, it is perfectly sewn.
You've all got to know that Dayna is an angel, because she sent a first apron that got lost in on its way to France. That makes this apron particular dear to my heart.
She also sent an adorable mouse pad made with the same fabric. It's already on my desk. and a nice towel.

Thank you so much Dayna.

Package received on the wings of an Angel

I was so graciously angeled by Becca and my goodies arrived yesterday. What a perfect surprise of gifts. The half apron on this beautiful textured cream material with brown bottom and backing, matching perfectly with my decor. The eyelet cream is the perfect vintage look. The vintage went great with the rest of the gifts too: purse pattern, book of vintage patterns, crocheted doily, vintage dish towel, and handkerchief. The hankie was also perfect for my collection of hankies. My little girl was so thrilled to add another to our collection. Even though this was a Lucy swap and I am not a huge Lucy fan, I loved the retro portion to the swap and Becca provided the perfect package. Thank you

better late than never

Here's the apron I sent to my secret buddy. I can't wait to hear from her. Please hurry up Mr. postman.

I sent my apron but...

It came back to me. My partner is probably wondeing where her apron is well i made a boo boo and wrote the wrong street number on the package so I have to resend it. I am sorry pal. It will be going back in Mondays mail with the correct addy.

What I Sent/What I Got

Here's the great package I got from Jenny in Utah! She made me a wonderful apron and included placemats, napkins and rings, and a yummy-smelly candle! I lovelovelove the Ric-Rac! Thanks Jenny! And here's what I sent Lucy B - hope she liked it! Of course, since I got LUCY, I HAD to trace the "L" from the I Love Lucy graphic and plaster it all over...

I made her a hand towel and tea towel also.

And a tote bag, using disappearing 9-patch. I put an L on each side.

And here's the inside, with "Lucy" fabric.... thanks, Shawnee, for hosting this swap :-)

I got my apron from Becky S.

Thank You so much for my lovely apron..I will take some pics and post them in the next day or two so all can see what Becky S. did just for me...Like I told Becky, It's been man many years since anyone made something by hand just for me...Too long, way too long!!!.....When you sew everyone just gets the idea you can do it yourself so they won't...At least the clan around me, so it's nice to have like-minded chicky hen e-mail girlfriends who love to share the love KWIM. Thank You Shawnee! YOU ROCK!!!!......................Also I thought since I had pics uploaded of the apron I made for Fudgie I would go ahead and throw it up here. It's been burning a hole in my Picassa file too long now. Fudgie if you want to know the story of your apron(or anyone else for that matter please go to my blog...You will get a laugh out of what a dork and featherhead I can be...

I still want to see pics of Fudgie in this apron. Again go see the story on it you will laugh....Kim Cherrine-Bell

My new apron!

Yesterday I received my apron from Kimberly C.
Oh for heaven's sake...it is georgasss!
I really look like a hoochie mama in it!
I think my husband was wishing
for a dance in it! It is much too pretty
to wear and get tomato stains on it!
It will be hanging on my apron
holder for all to see! I like the "goodies too!"
I remember those cookbooks were
in my mother's kitchen.
Where oh where did they go?
I will post a photo when I get home
from work tonight.
Thanks again Kimberly C.

Apron received

I received my apron today from J0J0. It a purty white half apron with large red polka dots. I love it. Along with the apron she sent two Lucy DVds with three episodes each, Lucy stickers and some Lucy trading cards. All very wonderful gifts. I can't wait to show off my apron at my next Fall Fling. I get pictures taken as soon as I can. Thanks JoJo.

My Apron!

Jeannie P! What a beautiful apron you sent me! My camera battery is dead but I wanted to let you know as soon as possible that I got my apron. My kids just crought it in to me from town. I am in disbelief at the goodies. I love the extra fabric and tin but the vintage mini fiesta pitcher!?! I AM SO in shock. I just saw one at an antique store and wanted it so badly. I didnt get it though as we were on a budget and needed other things.

I just cant even tell you how much that meant to me right now. Its been a rough day.....Was there supposed to be money in the pitcher? I am sure that was meant for Shawnee for postage. I think she forgot it so I will send it to her.

I will update this post tomorrow with pictures. But I needed you to know right away you went above and beyond. Thank you so very much...............

My Awesome Goodies

Align Center
I was so excited to receive my package last week from Marlene. Marlene, are ya out there? YOU ARE AWESOME! (I didn't have your email address though, so I couldn't write you an immediate thank you, I hope you're checking this blog though).

First of all, I have morning sickness (we just found out...I'm about 8 1/2 weeks pregnant, and I get sick, pretty bad), so I didn't take a picture of me wearing the apron because I look pretty gross. But my mother-in-law was here over the weekend and she helped me a bunch with housework and such since I am not feeling so great, she was my lovely model.

This is an amazing apron. Definitely not something done in just an hour. WOW! Thank you for all the time you put into this. I am completely in awe of your sewing skills. (I personally hate cutting patterns, and this one looks like it would have had a ton of pattern pieces). And the fabric was super cute too.

Goodies too! Music, candy, towel, note pad, notebook, and bath fizzes. YAY!

Thanks again Marlene!

I'm sharing, I hope Dayna doesn't mind

I'm sending a picture of the package I put together for Dayna--by the way--you lucky swapper, you got the chocolate! It's a little difficult to see, but the package included a glass hand juicer, 4 glasses, pearls, a table "dust collector" and the 50s staple, Jell-O. This is one of my favorite half apron styles, it's a double layer that has "sway" to it when you're wearing it. I thought it might be fun to have the opposite of Lucy's classic navy with white polka dots. I hope Dayna's husband enjoyed it once he saw it as much as she seemed to.

She sent a lovely email when she received it, the same day. When I said I hadn't heard anything from an angeled swapper, it was not Dayna, and I hope everyone understands that. My comments the other day were an explanation, not a put-down of newbies. I think sometimes something "gets lost in the translation", as my mother used to say, when we read what people write rather than hear them say it.

I hope all the others will put up pictures of what they've done, I love seeing the creativity.

My swap partner's Apron!

I will load up the slow mules with my partner's apron on Monday.
It has been finished, with a peek in the blog, for some time.
I have had bad luck trying to find appropriate "goodies" to
send with it. So now I am just sending treats with it. I hope
she is not disappointed, if so...just eat some chocolate.
Betty S.

Packages Posted, Winners and Apology

Swappers -- An apology is in order from your swap hostess. My life has pretty much fallen apart this summer and I have been SO behind in everything, even this sweet swap. I have TRULY felt like I am the person working in the chocolate factory instead of Lucy and Ethel.

I am happy to report that ALL packages from first-time swappers have been mailed off as of today. I set a very early mailing deadline for these swappers, several had to send late and then I moved/family got VERY sick/work is insane/our puppy was killed//blah/blah/blah .... I had kept the packages together waiting for the last of the "early" packages, which I finally picked up last week, but it was much later than anticipated and I am so sorry about that.

First time swappers -- Kimberly C, JoJo, Jeanie P, Becky S, Madelyn, and Rena -- you ALL followed the rules and are marked as GREAT swappers. I'm sorry that I haven't been as communicative as I normally am with swappers.

Becca O, Jennifer W (OH), Kimberly C, Betty S, Amy R, Vicki M -- you have special packages in Priority mail to you from a first-timer ... you should receive them Monday or Tuesday, and I know you'll be pleased.

ALL SWAPPERS, feel free to post any pictures you have taken! This is a secret swap and no one will know if it's "her" apron unless you've told her you're her partner.

Winners:

Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory
gift box .... DAYNA W!!!

Queen Bead earrings .... MADELYN M!!!

Congratulations!!

PS -- I still have a child in the hospital, but I plan to update the sidebar by the end of the weekend of who has mailed/who has received and send out requests for updates from those I haven't heard from yet. So, if you've not mailed yet, you have a day or two reprieve!!

Did my swap partner get her apron YET?

It been weeks since I sent my apron off to Shawnee and I am just kinda of curious if my swap partner has ever gotten it yet? Just curious, would love to post some pics on my blog and here but I don't want to spoil the surprise for that certain someone!!! Anyone? Anyone?

The Camera's Back!!

So, my camera made it back from Cleveland without any problems, and it took a picture of the WONDERFUL package I received from Tara, who was sneaky enough to ask for me as her partner!! She sent me a fabulous reversible apron, and lots of stuff. The only things that didn't make it into the picture were a box of pins because they are in use downstairs, and a bar of chocolate--did you really think it would last until the camera came home? then you don't know me! Thanks again Tara, you're great!
